2021 Presidents Report

As you all may know we have made history this year winning the Gallaher shield for the very first time since Eden Rugby’s establishment was formed in 1922. Saturday 17^thof July was a very special day for all present and previous members of our club, firstly our premier development team winning the George Nicholson cup, followed by our Premiers securing the win for the Gallaher shield. When I reflect on that day a wave of emotion and an over whelming feeling of joy hits me at the same time, as I am sure it does for all proud Eden members. Both of these victories are the best examples of what hard work, dedication, commitment and integrity looks like. We would like to dedicate these achievements to all Eden members that have sadly passed on. We cherish the memories and in our hearts they live forever.

Executives Board

Eden Rugby has a small dynamic and devoted team of volunteers on our committee working endless hours behind the scenes to keep our club running with the help of our Old Boys network. Our committee works very hard to ensure the maintenance of our facilities are up to scratch, apparel sales, venue hireage, registration processes, ensuring partnership with sponsors and so much more, they are the back bone of our club and I would like to personally thank everyone involved, for a successful year. I feel that we as a club are in a solid position moving forward.

Junior Grades

Our junior grades lie at the heart of everything we do here at Eden Rugby. Being a family-oriented club, you will often see dads as coaches and mums as managers and we love this about our junior club. Over all playing numbers are strong with some growth coming from girls which is awesome to see. Our boys and girls represent our club with a lot of pride. Our junior committee has done a great job in sustaining the wellness and growth of our junior club.

Senior Grades

All our senior teams competed to the best of their ability this season. We are so proud of all our teams from our Lady Hawkes, U21s, Mighty Lizards, Steelers, Exclusives, and the Wandering Outlaws. Congratulations again to our Premier team and Premier Development team also our U/21 team winners of the (ARU 21S Bowl) great achievement for all our coaches, managers and team officials. All teams have represented our club with great honour. To all the current and ex Eden members here in NZ and around the world, we all share these victories together congratulations Eden family.

Representative

Congratulations to all our players selected to play for various representative teams this season. Sadly, covid put a stop to this season. Keep working hard and we look forward to your involvement and participation next season at Eden Rugby.

Centennial Celebrations

2022 will be a huge year for our club. We will celebrate our 100 years as Eden Rugby. It will be great to catch up with as many members as possible. The centennial committee are working to finalise planning dates have been confirmed on our club websites and please check for updated information
